Obituary Record

Emil Japp
Died on 11/10/1901
Buried in German Cemetery

Yesterday (Thursday) morning the relatives and friends of Emil Japp were startled by the news of his death which occurred at the home of his parents one mile and a half southeast of town. Mr. Japp was taken off suddenly, being sick only a day or two. Dr. Bedal, of Blair, did all within his power to relieve the suffering young man, but all to no avail, for at 7:30 death came and relieved the unfortunate boy from his terrible sufferings.

Mr. and Mrs. Japp have a family of twelve children and this is the first death. Emil was an ideal young man, a hard worker, always kind to his parents, sisters and brothers and to his many friends in Kennard and surrounding country. He was always held in high esteem. The family is grief-stricken and heartsore at the realization that one of its treasures is missing, but how much consolation and mitigation of grief there should be for them in the remembrance of his life and of the spontaneous outburst of sympathy manifested by all his friends.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 1 o'clock p.m. at the house. Interment at the Germania hall cemetery. - - - ENTERPRISE

The Vig Files at the Danish American Archives have it recorded that Emil was the son of William and Dora Japp. His date of birth is record as October 12, 1899 and that he passed away on November 10, 1901.
