#1-28 Nov., 1904 - The Pilot - Albert Nelson (spelled “Nelsen” in this obituary)

The news of the death of Albert, the little twelve year old son of Peter Kruger Nelsen Thursday at the Robinson hospital, brought out many expressions of regret from those who knew the boy and the family. Last summer the little fellow underwent an operation for appendicitis, but his condition was such that a finished job could not be made. A renewal of the attack about three weeks ago resulted in the boy being brought to the hospital where he was prepared for a second operation, which was performed last Wednesday by Dr. Davis of Omaha, and Dr. Stewart of this city. Thursday afternoon he passed away. He was one of the brightest little boys in the county, and his teacher, J. W. Henderson, says that he was one of the nicest, brightest little boys he ever had in school in all his years of teaching. On election day his father accidentally broke his leg and is still in the hospital and is unable to leave the bed. The funeral was held Sunday from the Danish church, where the many friends of the family were present to pay their last respects to the little boy who had uncomplainingly suffered so much. The Pilot joins the many friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.

#2-30 Nov., 1904 - Blair Courier - Alfred Nelson

Albert, the twelve year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kruger Nelson was operated upon a second time for appendicitis last Wednesday by Dr. Davis of Omaha at the Robinson hospital, and died Thursday afternoon. The little fellow was operated upon in Omaha last April, but on account of the condition of the bowels, the appendix was not removed, only the pus sack was opened and drained. The funeral was held at the Danish Lutheran church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, and a large concourse of friends of the stricken family followed the remains of the brave little sufferer to their last resting place. Mr. Nelson had the misfortune to fall and break his leg on election day and was unable to attend the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson have five girls and but one son, five years of age left.
