Last Friday a young woman by the name of Marie Johnson, who at one time was a resident of Herman, was found dead in her room in Lincoln. It was a case of suicide by turning on the gas. No reason for the act was known except that her lover, Carl Johnson of Herman, had importuned her to marry him and she had put off the marriage which had been set for July 4.
