#1-23 Mar., 1904 - The Pilot - Marie (Nielsen) Jorgensen

Mrs. J. C. Jorgensen whose death occurred last week was born June 16, 1836, and at the time of her death was sixty seven years and nine months old, and had been married for the past thirty five years. Twenty seven years ago they came to Orum and took up a homestead, and for the past twenty years they have lived in Blair. Her death was very sudden and unexpected, and a large circle of friends and acquaintances were shocked by the sad news and extended sympathy to the bereaved family in the loss of the wife and mother. She leaves a husband and two daughters - both married - Mrs. Mary Olson of Carroll, Nebr. and Mrs. Christina Monk of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Jorgensen were pioneer settlers here and have always been considered as among our most progressive people, and have done their full share toward building up Blair and Washington county.

#2-24 Mar., 1904 - Blair Republican - Maren Jorgensen

Died at her home in this city on Wednesday, March 16, Maren, wife of J. C. Jorgensen, aged 67 years and nine months. Deceased was born in Denmark and came to this county with her husband 27 years ago, settling on a homestead near what is now Orum. Later the family located in this city which has been their home for 20 years. She joined the Advent church 23 years ago and Rev. Daniel Nettleton, her former pastor, came from Lincoln and preached her burial service to a large audience at their church on Friday afternoon of last week. A husband and two married daughters - Mrs. Mary Olsen of Carroll, Neb. and Mrs. Christina Monk of Blair. The community mourn the death of a most excellent wife, mother and neighbor.
