25 Jan., 1905 - Blair Courier - Sarah Ann (Younkin) Warrick

About five years ago Mrs. John Warrick suffered a paralytic stroke, and since then has had three others, the last, which came about two weeks ago, left her right side completely paralyzed. She failed gradually from that time until death claimed her at 7:15 last Saturday evening. Mrs. Warrick was a member of the Christian church, but the funeral service was held at the Baptist church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. Motter of Craig officiating, assisted by Rev. Conley. Her husband died on Jan. 25th, two years ago in Arlington, and was buried from the same church. Sarah A. Younkin was born in Clearfield county, Pa. on Aug. 1st, 1838, and was married to John G. Warrick June 9th, 1859. They came to this county in 1866 and made their home on a farm a few miles northwest of this city until shortly before Mr. Warrik’s death when they moved to Arlington. After his death Mrs. Warrick bought the property opposite where she died. She leaves eight children, all of whom were present at the funeral service. Mrs. W. W. Dixon, Mrs. John Younkin of Boise City, Idaho; Mrs. S. S. Dixon of Arlington; Mrs. John Compton, who lives on a farm north of Blair; and Mrs Jas. Garland, who made her home with Mrs. Warrick. The sons are Gus, Zade and Nem.

Sarah A. Younkin was born in Clearfield county, Penn. August 1, 1838. She was married to John G. Warrick June 9, 1859. Twelve children were born to them, eight of whom are still living. Mr. and Mrs. Warrick came to Washington county to make their home in 1866. Mr. Warrick died two years ago, the 25th of January. Mrs. Warrick was a member of the Church of Christ, having been baptized February 27, 1894. On January 21, 1905 she obeyed the summons to depart this life and be with her Savior. She was 66 years, 5 months and 20 days of age.
