Services for Jani Japp, 35 of LeMars, Iowa and formerly of Washington, Nebraska who died May 8, 1996 at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a short illness, were Friday, May 10 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Merrill, Iowa.

Jani Japp was born July 21, 1960 in LeMars, Iowa to Larry and Luene Petersen. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church and was raised on a farm near Merrill.

She graduated from LeMars High School and later attended Iowa State University.

She married Lonny Japp February 4, 1989. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband; children, Samantha and Griffin; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Jess and Kay Petersen; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Kirk Pepenthien; three nieces; and her parents-in-law, Richard and Mayone Japp of Washington; brothers-in-law, R.Scott Japp of Arlington; Matthew Japp of Kennard; Reed (and Vicki) Japp of Bennington; a sister-in-law and her husband, Pam and Sean Ehrp of Omaha; and a nephew, Ben Japp of Bennington.
