MRS. IDA HINDLEY DIED WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Ida B. Hindley, a lifelong resident of Washington County, passed away Wednesday evening at the Blair Hospital at the age of 80 years. Her husband, Carl J. Hindley, preceded her in death several years ago.

Surviving are three sons, George Hindley of Herman, W. L. Hindley of Blair and Edwin C. Hindley of Long Beach, California. Also five daughters, Mrs. Bernice Frazeur of Ft. Walton, Florida; Mrs.Helen Happle of Oakland, Nebraska; Mrs.Grace Nagler of Lincoln; Mr.Stella Brock of College Park, Maryland and Lillian Chapman of Sunland, California.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Bendorf Funeral Home. The time and date are not yet completed. A complete obituary will be given next week.

MRS. IDA B. HINDLEY BURIED SATURDAY

Funeral services with Rev. Homer Dickerson officiating were held at the Methodist Church in Blair Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Ida B. Hindley, who passed away at the Blair Hospital Wednesday afternoon after an illness of four days.

Mrs. Hindley was born to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Carpenter on October 20, 1871 on a farm northwest of Blair. After tearchng for a short time in the Lecrone school she was united in marriage to Carl J. Hindley on February 29th, 1892. To this union eight children were born. Three sons, George of Herman, W. L. (Leon) of Blair and Edwin of Long Beach California. Five daughters, Mrs. Bernice Frazeur of Ft. Walton, Florida; Mrs. Helen Happle of Oakland, Nebraska; Mrs. Grace Nagler of Lincoln; Mrs. Stella Brock of College Park, Maryland and Mrs. Lillian Chapman of Sunland, California.

All the children except Mr. Frazeur were present for the funeral services. Mrs. Frazeur and husband were moving from Florida to Whittier, California and could not be contacted.

Other survivors are two sisters, Alice and Minnie Carpenter of Blair and two brothers, Moses of Oakland, California and Henry of Carthage, Missouri. Also 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Hindley raised their family on their comfortable farm home east of the McCarthy school which their son, Leon, now farms. In 1929 they built and operated the B-Line Cabin Camp south of Blair until Mr. Hindley’s death, August 17, 1941. She and her sisters resided at 413 W. South street for the past year.

Mrs. Hindley was interested in music and following her marriage, she gave piano lessons to a number of pupils. She was also a devoted Christian and attended the Methodist Sunday School and church faithfully all during her lifetime. She also was active as a member of the War Mother’s Organization.

The Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements, and burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Dan Thompson, Floyd Hinz, Carl Schmidt, Clarence Thone, John Barry and Ed Natter.
