RAY JOHNSON RITES DECEMBER 1st

Ray Johnson, son of pioneers Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Johnson, died Thursday of last week in an Omaha hospital, and the funeral services were held Saturday, December 1st, from the Campbell Mortuary in Blair with Rev. Dickerson of the local Methodist Church officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Every businessman in Blair for over thirty years knew Ray in his work as telegrapher here, and all who knew him had no word of complaint. He was quiet in his manner, efficient in his work and always accommodating to the public he served.

He was born on the old home farm north of Blair and grew to manhood there and married Miss Goldie Tucker, a neighboring girl. Three children were born to them, a son, now deceased and two daughters, both married, one residing in Omaha and the other in Portland, Oregon. The wife died a number of years ago.

For thirty one years Ray served the public as telegrapher at Blair and was then retired on a pension. After his retirement his health failed him and for more than a year he has been ill which finally culminated in his death.

This closes the life of one who has done his work well and who has well earned the respect of the public he served.
