MRS. HUIT LOWE SUCCUMBS TO HEART ATTACK

Mrs. Huit Lowe died at the Blair Hospital at 1:55 Saturday morning following a heart attack which occurred sometime Thursday morning. She was at the time of the attack alone in her home in Herman, and it was some time later before her plight was discovered. She was immediately taken to the Blair Hospital where she died.

Rosalie Montgomery was born March 4th, 1873 in Newmansville, Illinois, and at eleven years of age moved with her parents to Herman. Here she grew to womanhood and met and married Huit Lowe. The ceremony was performed February 28, 1895, and they were privileged to live long enough to observe their fifty fifth wedding anniversary.

After their marriage they farmed in Burt County, but later purchased a fine farm near Herman where they lived until their retirement. Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Lowe as follows: Mrs. Claude Clements of Blair; Mrs. Bernice Schneider of Decatur; and Mr. Carroll Lowe of Ralston, Nebraska. Besides the children mentioned, there are five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Deceased was a member of the Herman Baptist Church and of The Degree of Honor Lodge and did her part until she became inactive.

Mr. Lowe passed away August 30, 1950, and since that time Mrs. Lowe has preferred to stay in her own home where she was living when she received the fatal heart attack.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Herman Baptist Church with Reverend Glenn Emmert officiating, and interment under the supervision of the Truhlsen Funeral Home was made in the Herman cemetery.

Casket bearers were Wayne Loftis, Kenneth Wachter, Wm. Skinner, Wilbur Lowe, John Reyzlik and Earl Reid.

Mute evidence of the respect their old neighbors held for them was evidenced by the large number in attendance at the last sad rites and they will miss their old neighbor and friend of a lifetime.
