MRS. ELIZABETH SULLY DIES

Mrs. Elizabeth Fenton Sully died at the home of her son, John, on November 27th. Mrs. Sully was a pioneer, having been born March 29, 1866, which was when the state was still a territory. All her life she has resided near DeSoto.

She was married May 15, 1893, to James Sully at St. Francis Borgia Catholic church in Blair, ad they immediately took up farming on the Sully farm near DeSoto where they resided all their married life.

The husband died August 1, 1926, and Mrs. Sully has lived with her son since that time. She leaves to mourn her death her sons, Joseph of DeSoto, John of Blair, Fenton of Venice, California and Mrs. Grace Bennett of Blair.

These children with fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive. To have lived in this county for eighty five years, to have seen this county change from the virgin state to the present highly improved state with fine homes dotting the land is a rare experience which is worthy of mention.

Funeral services were held this Thursday morning at the St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair with Father Edwin C. O’Donnel officiating, and interment under the supervision of the Bendorf Funeral Home was made in the Holy Cross cemetery. The pallbearers were four grandchildren and two nephews.
