MRS. MARY E. BUNN DIES AT 84 YEARS

Mrs. Mary E. Bunn, native of this county, passed away last Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. R. Beales, following a short illness.

Mrs. Bunn was born at Cuming City July 28, 1869, and was thus past eighty four years of age at her death. Had she been born five months earlier, she would have qualified as a pioneer. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Giles Mead, were pioneers, having come here in 1856.

Being of the early settlers, Mrs. Bunn knew the deprivation of those early times, and she lived to see the great changes that have come to this county, making it an ideal place to live.

She was married to Charles Benjamin Bunn on June 8, 1890. After farming for a year, they moved to the farm in the Kindred school district where they lived until the death of the husband in 1944.

In 1940 they celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary, and old friends gathered to help them remember their happy event. The Bunns in their day were interested in all civic matters of their school district where Mr. Bunn served for years as Director of the school and Mrs. Bunn did her part in all civic gatherings.

Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bunn, Mrs. A. R. Beales, Mrs. Opal Reeves (now deceased), and Mr. Byron Bunn. All were reared on the old home farm and all were given a good education and proved to be the best of citizens.

Mr. Bunn was a Mason and Mrs. Bunn was a member of the O.E.S. and until her years of inactivity she did her part in that organization.

Five grandchildren, with the children mentioned above, are Mary Ann and John H. Bunn and Eunice, Max and Janice Reeves. These all will miss the mother and grandmother who has meant so much to them.

Funeral services were held last Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Methodist church in Blair with Rev. Dickerson officiating, and interment under the supervision of Campbell Mortuary was made in the Blair cemetery.
