J. G. GIESSELMAN SERVICES TUESDAY

Funeral services for John Gotlieb Giesselman, 86, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran church north of Arlington. He died Saturday in Arlington of a heart attack.

Rev. Carl Hellmann conducted the services. Reckmeyer and Son Funeral home had charge of arrangements.

Mr. Giesselman, retired farmer of the Arlington vicinity, was born near Quincy, Illinois September 7, 1865. He was the son of Jobst Heinrich and Maria Giesselman.

At the age of one and a half years he came to this community with his parents in a covered wagon. They settled on a farm about three miles north of Arlington where he had spent his entire life.

On March 21, 1880 he was confirmed by Reverend Hilgendorf. He was married to Hannah Jacob September 9, 1886. They had 12 children, three of whom died in infancy. A son, Albert, also preceded them in death. Mrs. Giesselman died June 9, 1932.

He had been a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church near Arlington and an active voting member of the church.

Survivors are two sons, Ed and Harry, both of Arlington; six daughters, Mrs. Emma Toebben of Nickerson, Mrs. Fred Vogt and Mrs. Walter Nieman of Arlington, Mrs. Harold Riley of Fremont, Mrs. Roy Miller of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Edna Giesselman of Omaha; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
