Miss Anna Marie Nieman, who died September 19, 1951, was born in Germany March 20, 1881 and came to America at the age of nine years.

She was married to Chas. Schroeder in 1897, who passed away shortly after their marriage. In 1903 she was married to Henry Gradert, who died eighteen years ago. After her second marriage, they lived on a farm near Bennington until 1920 when they retired and moved to Bennington to her present home.

She was an active member of the Lutheran Church and of the Ladies Aid.

She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Mrs. Emil Kruse of Kennard, and two grandsons, three great grandchildren; one brother, Carl Nieman of Winside, and three sisters, Mrs. Martha Voss of Hoskins, Mrs. Dora Ehlers of Winside and Mrs. Barstadt of Pierce, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held at the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bennington on Sunday afternoon, September 23rd, and interment was made in the German cemetery.
