MRS. GRACE ANN SIMON RITES TUESDAY

Mrs. Grace Ann Simon, sister of Mrs. Ernest Tornblad and of A. M. Stapleton of this city, passed away last Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. L. Gardner of Omaha following an attack of cerebral hemorrhage.

Mrs. Simon was born in Blair and was 76 years of age at her death. She was married to Dr. Frank Simon on July 9, 1895. They resided in Craig, Oakland, Omaha, St. Louis and other places where his practice called him. He died about twenty four years ago.

To Dr. and Mrs. Simon two children were born, Mrs. S. L. Gardner of Omaha and Frank L. Simon of Phoenix, Arizona. These survive as do three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Besides these, she leaves two sisters, Gayle Bennett of Craig and Mrs. Dayle Tornblad of Blair and three brothers, E. E. Stapleton of Omaha, A. M. Stapleton of Blair and H. C. Stapleton of Ponca. All were in attendance at the funeral which was held at the Bendorf Funeral Home with the exception of H. C. Stapleton.

Funeral services with Rev. F. G. Havill of the local Episcopal church officiating were held Tuesday at 2 p.m., and interment was made in the Craig cemetery.

Mrs. Simon was a prominent member of the Eastern Star, being a Past Worthy Matron and a Past Grand Martha of the Grand Chapter.

The pallbearers were Harold Holmqvist, Oakland, Nebraska; Ernest Tornblad, Blair; James Bennett and Stanley Titus of Craig; Omar Titus of Tekamah and John Bowland of Tekamah.

Mrs. Ruth Blanchard sang at the sacred ceremony. The funeral was marked by the large number of out of town guests from Omaha, Craig, Oakland, Tekamah and Lincoln.
