SOPHIE KUNNEMANN DIES AT 85 YEARS

Mrs. Sophis Kunnemann, age 85 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carsten Wrich of Kennard on Tuesday, August 21, at 9 a.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Bennington from the Hadan’s Mortuary at 1:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. from the St. Johns Lutheran Church of Bennington, and interment will be made in the Flower Hill cemetery. As Sophie Struthmann, she came to this county from Germany in 1887, and the same year she was married to Derrick Kunnemann. They immediately started farming near Elkhorn, Nebraska.

To Mr. and Mrs. Kunnemann eleven children were born, nine of whom are still living: Geo and Henry of Imperial, Nebraska; John and Dick of Kennard; Fred of Blair; Ben of Elkhorn; Mrs. Carsten Wrich and Mrs. Hannah Christensen of Kennard; and Mrs. Clara Hedges of Grand Junction, Colorado. One brother living in Columbus, Nebraska also survives.

Besides those of the immediate family, she leaves twenty eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Mrs. Kunnemann had been an invalid for seven years and had shown great patience in her sufferings. She was a good wife, a wonderful mother and her children will look back to her with the greatest respect.
