MRS. PETRA CHRISTINE

Mrs. Petra Christine Sorensen was born January 10, 1862 in Horsens, Denmark, was married to Martin N. Sorensen on November 15, 1888, and the couple came to America in 1892, settling at Fremont where Mr. Sorensen eventually engaged himself in the shoe business. He passed away on December 19, 1923. Since that time Mrs. Sorensen has lived at various places with her children, until six years ago when she moved to Blair, residing for about three years in a private home, until the spring of 1948 when she became one of the first guests at Good Shepherd Home. Here she passed away on the afternoon of August 20 after a short illness.

The funeral services were held on August 22 at Good Shepherd Home with Dr. J. P. Nielsen in charge (1:30) and at First Lutheran Church in Fremont, (3:00) with Rev. A. Madsen in charge. Burial was made in Ridge Cemetery. Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Find a Grave Memorial #141757138 Mrs. Sorensen is survived by three sons and one daughter: Niels Sorensen of Blair; Mrs. Roy M. Lang of Columbus, Nebraska; John M. Sorensen of Fremont and Martin H. Sorensen of Lincoln; also by one brother , Henry Rasmussen of the Spiker (Herman) community, by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

It is suggested that those who wish to remember Mrs. Sorensen do it with gifts to Good Shepherd Home.
