TRACTOR MISHAP FATAL TO CARL

Businessman, Ex County Supervisor, Prominent Mason, Killed Saturday

Carl Bohs, well known and highly respected as a businessman, met his death Saturday afternoon when his tractor which he was driving turned over pinning him underneath. He was bringing the tractor to Blair for repairs and when near the Wilkinson farm south of Blair, the tractor left the road and overturned. The road where the accident happened was but little used on account of a bridge being out.

Carl was associated with the Bohs Service Station in Blair for seventeen or eighteen years. In the later years he became interested in farming and finally he gave up the oil business and gave his entire time to farming.

He was a native of Washington county where he spent his entire life. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bohs. His mother passed away when he was about eleven years old and the father died about two years ago.

Carl served as county supervisor and proved himself capable and conscientious as a public official.

On May 27, 1925 he was married to Miss Ester Monson and to them two children were born, one son, Lyle, and one daughter, Mrs. Hildreth Paine of Blair. These, with the bereaved widow, survive as do two brothers, Traney and Ernest, both of Blair and two sisters, Mrs. Leslie Johnson and Mrs. Woodrow West and a stepmother, Mrs. Andrew Bohs, also of Blair.

Deceased was a Mason in good standing, and he lived the teachings of that order. In his infancy he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith and the funeral was held from the First Lutheran church on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. H. C. Jorgensen officiating, and interment under the supervision of the Campbell Mortuary was made in the Blair cemetery.

At his death he was forty nine years of age. Forty nine years spent in this county, most of which was in active business, he leaves a host of friends and with the respect of all who knew him. His was a life well worthy of emulation.
