DR. PETERSON DIES SUDDENLY AT ARLINGTON

Dr. L. M. Peterson of Arlington died suddenly last Friday after a two day illness. Services were held Monday, April 30th at the Arlington Congregational church with Rev. E. Merle Adams officiating, and interment was made in the Arlington cemetery.

The body lay in state from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Reckmeyer Funeral Home. The American Legion and Masonic lodge held graveside services in his honor.

Dr. Peterson, a dentist, was a lifelong resident of Arlington. He was born October 12, 1894 at Arlington, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Peterson. He was a member of the Arlington board of education for many years and was active in Arlington’s Community club.

He was a past master of Hiram lodge No. 52, A.F. & A.M. and a past commander of Leslie Downs post, American Legion. He was also a member of the Knights Templar, Forty and Eight and Tri-Valley Dental Association

He was married to Violet Warren June 2, 1924 at Council, Bluffs, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Lauren Spangler of Arlington and Janet Peterson at home; two grandchildren, Michelle and Leanne Spangler of Arlington; and two brothers, Rodney of Arlington and Ted of Hollywood, network radio announcer who uses the professional name Ted Pearson. Two sisters preceded him in death.

In his passing Arlington has lost a citizen who had served the community faithfully and it is needless to say he will be greatly missed.
