RITES SUNDAY MRS. E. V. HEATH

Mrs. Barbara Heath, 89 years old, died at her home in Blair on Friday morning, April 6, following a long period of failing health due to old age. She was born Oct. 20, 1861 on a farm west of Blair where she attended the Sutherland school and where she grew to womanhood.

She was herself a pioneer and of pioneer parents. She knew the pioneer life and enjoyed the open hospitality and the freedom of those early days, and with her departure goes a wealth of knowledge of those early days.

She was married in 1882 to E. V. Heath, who died some years ago. For a time they lived in Burt County, but later returned to the old home place west of Blair.

She was one of the very few remaining pioneers of the county, soon they will be but a memory, but they did their part and laid the foundation for the present wonderful county we now enjoy.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. R. E. Ditlevson of the Baptist church officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

The following children survive: Mrs. Vera Snowerdt of Miami, Florida; Elmer of Miami, Florida; Early of Lake Placid, Florida; Chas. Alexander of Virginia; Ora of Omaha; Venice of Portand, Oregon and Harvey at Norfolk, Nebraska.
