MRS. VIOLET BABBITT DIED MONDAY

Mrs. Violet Babbitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grabbe of this city, died at the home of her parents last Monday at 8:30 a.m. following an illness of two and one half years.

She was born on the home farm west of Spiker were she grew to womanhood and was married to Gerald Brandt who later met his death when his oil truck he was driving overturned and he was burned to death.

Later she remarried, this time to James Babbitt, and they took up farming near Decatur where the family now resides. At her death she was thirty eight years of age.

Besides the parents and husband she leaves five sons, the youngest five years of age and the eldest thirteen, and two sisters, Mrs. George Heineken of Blair and Mrs. Wm. Wiesse of Uehling and three brothers, Edward and Leland Grabbe of Spiker and Fred, Jr. of Blair.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. this Thursday afternoon in Lyons, and interment will be made in the Lyons cemetery.
