STROKE FATAL TO MRS. W. A.

Fontanelle Woman In Poor Health Several Years

Mrs. William Steavensen, well known Washington County resident of the Fontanelle vicinity, passed away suddenly Friday afternoon following a paralytic stroke she had suffered a few hours earlier.

Mrs. Steavenson was in her home alone at the time of the stroke and was immediately rushed to the Fremont hospital by her husband, William A. Steavensen. At the hospital her condition was at first pronounced satisfactory, and she showed signs of rallying, but later in the afternoon she took a turn for the worse and passed away a short time later.

Mrs. Steavensen was 53 years of age.

Mrs. Steavenson was born Dec. 7, 1897 on the farm home where she lived all her life. She attended the schools at Fontanelle and was graduated from Fremont High School following which she attended the University of Nebraska. She was later employed at Milady shop in Fremont for several years.

She was a member of the Salem Lutheran church at Fontanelle, a charter member of the Missionary society of the church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

On November 29, 1929 she was married to W. A. Stevenson at Fontanelle. He survives with a son, William and a daughter, Eleanor, both living at home; two brothers, Clarence Niebaum of Fontanelle and Willis Niebaum of Elkhardt, Ind.; and one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Anderson of Elkhardt.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Salem Lutheran church at Fontanelle. Dr. M. A. Ritzen officiating.

Burial was in Fontanelle church cemetery.
