MRS. SAM McCOWAN RITES FEBR. 7TH

Mrs. Sam McCowan died February 5 at the age of sixty nine years. Her death followed a major operation in an Omaha hospital.

Stella Barton was born May 24th, 1881 near Blair. She had been a resident of Washington County all her life and received her early education in the schools of the county.

On March 11th, 1903 she was married to Samuel McCowan and to this union three daughters were born: Mrs. Harold Johnson of Blair; Mrs. Clarkson Husk of Blair; and Mrs. Lloyd Husk of Tekamah.

Besides the husband and three daughters, the leaves to mourn her passing three granddaughters and three great grandchildren and one brother, Lester Barton of Blair and three sisters, Mrs. Lida Pixley of Ainsworth; Miss Annie Barton of Blair and Mrs. N. C. Nelson of Blair.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 7th, at the Methodist church in Blair with Rev. H. L. Dickerson officiating, and interment under the supervision of Campbell Mortuary was made in the Blair cemetery.
