HERMAN THOMSEN RITES MONDAY

Herman Thomsen died Friday morning at the Blair Convalescent Home where he had been a patient for several months suffering from a lingering ailment which finally culminated in his death.

He was born Sept. 18, 1892. He leaves to survive him his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Mary Grotto of Blair and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 9 a.m. at the Catholic church in Blair, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Herman Thomsen, 58, of Blair died February 2 at the Blair Convalescent Home after a long illness. His home was at the southeast edge of Blair. Mr. Thomsen was the husband of the former Mae Harley of Gretna.

Mr. Thomsen was born September 17, 1892, at Millard, Nebraska. He once was employed with the local state highway department crew, and more recently, before becoming ill, with the Kelly Ryan Equipment Company.

The rosary was recited Sunday evening at the Campbell Mortuary. Requiem high mass was sung at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church Monday morning with the Rev. Edward C. O’Donnell officiating. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery at Blair.

Surviving Mr. Thomsen are his wife May, an employee of Wilkins store; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Grotto of Blair; three grandchildren; also a sister, Mrs. Arthur Simon of Springfield.
