JOHN J. FITZGERALD DIED SATURDAY

John J. Fitzgerald, 54, Washington county farmer and county commissioner from his district from 1935 to 1948 inclusive, died at his home in Garry Owen district of a heart attack last Saturday morning.

Deceased was a native of this county and a man of distinction in his vicinity in the southeast part of the county. As a member of the county board he prided himself on the road building program which he emphasized through his four year term.

Mr. Fitzgerald is survived by his wife, Ann; sons, John, Jr.; Terrence, Thomas and Michael; daughters, Shella, Patricia and Peggy, all at home and Mrs. Francis Dillon of Gretna; his mother, Mrs. Hannah Fitzgerald, also at home; brothers Jim and Dan and a sister Hannah Fitzgerald, all of the Garry Owen community.

Funeral services were Held Monday, January 29th, at 10 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic church in Florence with Rev. Edward C. O’Donnell of Blair officiating, and burial was made at Holy Sepulchre cemetery in Omaha.
