FORMER BLAIRITE DIES IN WEST

Raymond McCracken, 49, well known former Blair man, passed away Saturday, January 13, at Bakersfield, California, death being attributed to a heart attack. Mr. McCracken is a brother of Mrs. George T. Hedelund of Blair and a son of Mr. and Mrs. John McCracken, formerly of Blair, but now of Denver.

His death was apparently brought on by a series of tragic events which had followed in rapid succession in recent months.

About 4 months ago Mrs. McCracken passed away after a lingering illness. Shortly before his death, Mr. McCracken had received a call from his youngest son, Sammy, who is a member of the armed forces that he was about to be sent to Korea, embarking from Bakersfield. He was enroute to bid his son goodby when stricken with the fatal attack. He did not reach Sammy before the ship sailed.

The deceased man leaves to mourn his passing his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John McCracken of Denver, a son, John, and a son, Jake, both of Denver, a daughter, Geraldine of Los Angeles and the son, Smmy, who is now in Korea. He is also survived by his sister, Mrs. George T. Hedelund of Blair and a brother William McCracken of Denver.

Interment was made at Los Angeles where Mrs. McCracken is also buried.
