L. M. BANISTER BURIED TUESDAY

L. M. Banister, well known Ft. Calhoun resident and former town marshall, was buried in the Ft. Calhoun cemetery last Tuesday, August 22nd. He had passed away Friday morning, August 18th, in Chicago where he had made his home since last fall.

Mr. Banister was born August 19th, 1874 in Ft. Calhoun, and he spent most of his life in the Calhoun and Omaha vicinities. He was the husband of the late Winnie Powels Banister, and the father of eight children, one of whom still lives in the Ft. Calhoun vicinity.

During his life he was employed by the railroad, did some farming and for a time was Town Marshall of Ft. Calhoun. Mrs. Banister preceded him in death.

The children who survive him are: Clarence of Chicago; Earl of Ft. Calhoun; Jack of Lubeach, Texas; Mrs. Addie Hindley of Feabrook, Texas; Mrs. Viola Olson and Mrs. Gladys Eaton of Chicago; and Mrs. Mabel Rizzo of Englewood, California. A daughter, Mrs. Margaret Clark of Mount Pleasant, Texas, preceded him in death.

Services were held at the Sievers Funeral Home in Ft. Calhoun with the Rev. Homer Dickerson officiating. Mrs. Lester Smith, accom[anied by Carol Sievers, furnished the music.
