The funeral of Miss Ida McCowan was held at her home Friday afternoon at 2:30. Rev. Robert Wigert was in charge, assisted by Rev. W. A. Clarke of Schuyler, Neb. Burial was made beside her parents in the Herman cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. William Skinner and Mrs. Claude Yowell. The pallbearers were Ben Wachter, Thomas Wakefield, A. R. Harper, Earl Reid, Jennings West and Orie Holton.

Ida McCowan was born February 14, 1883 on a farm about seven miles southwest of Herman, and passed away at her home Tuesday evening, September 12, 1950. She moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William McCowan and her sister, Maud, to their home south of Herman 41 years ago. She lived all her life in Washington county. She leaves to mourn her passing her sister, Maud Haver and brother, Sam McCowan, many relatives and friends.

Some of the out of town friends who attended the funeral of Miss Ida McCowan were Mrs. Charles Byrne and daughter, Mrs. Ken Finn, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Knott and Mrs. Irvin Knott, all of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Long, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Wandell, Frank Biffer and Norse Ward of blair; and Mrs. Grace Mastick of Arlington.
