VIOLA MAYNARD DIED SUNDAY

Viola Maynard, widowed wife of Ora Maynard, suffered a stroke about three weeks ago and on last Sunday at 8:30 she passed away. At her death she was past 65 years of age.

She was married to Ora Maynard on June 2, 1909, and for the first two years they lived in Aurora, moving to Blair in 1911, which has since been their home.

Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Maynard, four of whom preceded the mother in death. The father died in 1918. After his death, the wife carried on as best she could. She was called on to do practical nursing and her hands were always busy.

Not being content with caring for her own family, she reared a family of her sister, who had passed away, and later took a granddaughter under her care, who is now in her senior year in high school.

Nor was this all, she found time to take an active part in the Reorganized Latter Day Saints church where for fifteen years she was an officer in the church school.

Really her life was one of sacrifice, always doing something to help others, and she will be remembered for her acts of kindness and her sacrifices, that her loved ones might have the necessities and the opportunities as needed.

Two sons and one daughter survive, John Brenham of Texas and Curtis of Hastings, Nebraska and Mrs. Carrie Contreraz of Omaha. Also 2 brothers residing in Colorado and the granddaughter already referred to.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 13th, from the Campbell Mortuary, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
