HUIT LOWE RITES SEPT. 1

Huit Lowe, son of Hugh and Eliza Jane Lowe, was born July 1, 1872 in Jasper County, Iowa, and passed away August 30, 1950 at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 29 days.

At the age of 10 years he moved with his parents to Burt County near Herman, and the remainder of his life was spent in that community.

He farmed with his father until 1894, and then started farming for himself.

On February 28, 1895 he was united in marriage to Rosalie Montgomery. To this union three children were born: Irene, Carroll and Bernice. Mr. and Mrs. Lowe observed their 55th anniversary Feb. 28, 1950.

He was a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen for many years and of the Masonic Lodge since 1924.

He served as director of School District 9 in Burt County for a number of years, and was always ready to render any necessary services for the benefit of the community. He was a devoted husband and father and a great home lover.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Rosalie, and three children: Mrs. Irene Clements, Blair; Carroll, Ralston; and Mrs. Bernice Schneider of Decatur; 5 grandchildren: Vernon, Eugene and Wilbur Clements, Jo Ann Schneider, Maryott and Dick Schneider, and three great grandchildren. Also two sisters: Mrs. Minerva Carter of Blair; and Maggie Lowe of Herman; and three brothers: Ollie of Arlington; William of Oregon; and John of Waterloo, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church in Herman, and interment was made in the Herman cemetery.
