Burial was held Saturday in the Arlington cemetery for Mrs. Mark Roberts of Diagonal, Ia., who passed away in an Omaha hospital on Wednesday. Mrs. Roberts was born south of Arlington Oct. 30, 1899 as Gertrude McKennan, and attended country school and also Arlington High school and Fremont Normal after which she taught country schools, later teaching in the grade schools at Kennard. On August 14th she married Mark Roberts of Diagonal, Iowa, president of the First State Bank there. Mrs. Roberts was affiliated with the Mount Aye Eastern Star and the Methodist church of Diagonal. Survivors are her widower, a stepson, David of Minneapolis, Minn., two sisters, Mrs. Coe Augustus and Mrs. Fred Bricker of Fremont, and three brothers, Frank McKennan of St. Helena, Calif.; Rollo McKennan of Sheridan, Wyo; and John McKennan of Kimberly, Ida. Services were held at the Methodist church in Diagonal and at the Fred Bader Funeral Home in Fremont.
