ED LANDERS DIED TUESDAY EVE

Ed Landers, one of the best known men in this section, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday after a long period of failing health.

He was born in Illinois on Feb. 17, 1872, and in early manhood came to Nebraska where for years he was engaged in telephone work.

On March 6, 1907 he was married to Edith Jones, the ceremony being performed at Seward, Neb. To them three children were born, Charles Ray of Fresno, Calif.; and Mrs. Adelaide Grieb of Omaha. One son died at the age of 24 years.

All their married life they lived in Omaha, Blair or DeSoto. After leaving the telephone work on account of his health, he operated the Forgot Store just out of Florence. Later he sold out and purchased the DeSoto store. Here on account of his health he again sold and he did not attempt to re-enter business.

Besides the wife and the two children, he leaves three grandchildren. At the time of his death he was at the home of his daughter in Omaha.

He was a man of exceptionally fine character and his friends all held him in the highest esteem. To have lived in a community for the number years he has and the respect be unanimous, speak more than mere words can express.

Funeral services will be held next Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Campbell Mortuary, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
