Former Blair resident Esther L. Olson, 94, of Detroit Lakes, Minn., died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011, at Detroit Lakes.

Funeral services were held Monday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Graveside services were held in the Blair Cemetery.

Esther L. Olson was born May 29, 1917, at Marquette to Nels L. and Clara C. (Larsen) Nelson. She graduated from Friend High School.

On Nov. 14, 1942, she married Dr. Milton Olson in Pawhuska, Okla.

Mrs. Olson served as treasurer for the original Blair Community Hospital. She was a member of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years, and served as Past Worthy Matron. She was a member of the Blair VFW and American Legion Auxiliary, and was a charter member of Blair Eagles Auxiliary. She was also a member of the P.E.O., Danish Brotherhood, and First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, Robert and Linda Olson of Blair, and James and Linda Olson of Mineral, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dave Fuhrman of Detroit Lakes; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton, in January 1980, and one sister Helen Eberline.
