BURTIS SMITH DIES OF HEART ATTACK

Burtis Smith, 68, of Omaha died Tuesday at 2 p.m. the result of a heart attack. Bertie was born and educated in Blair. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John George Smith who lived at the corner of Lincoln and Third street.

He was married to Miss Mary Kenny, who was also a Blair native, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kenny.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Carroll Bobbitt and Mrs. Roderic Mouer of Omaha; three sons, Bertis, Jr. of Omaha; Kenny of Riverside, Ill.; and Frederick of Chicago.

Other survivors are the brother, Will, Omaha; four sisters, Francis and Grace of Blair; Mrs. Luvia Cox of North Platte; and Mrs. Edith Hawkins of Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist church in Omaha, and burial will be in Forest Lawn cemetery.
