MRS. STRICKLETT DIED SUNDAY

Mrs. Chas. Stricklett was the victim of a stroke Saturday evening which resulted in her death Sunday morning at eleven o’clock.

Gertrude McCoy was born in Adams County, Nebr. in 1877, and when a child came to Washington County where the family settled on a farm at DeSoto. Here she grew to womanhood and received her early education in the district school.

In 1895 she was married to Chas. Stricklett, the ceremony being performed in Blair. They at once started farming and continued to farm until about 25 years ago when they gave up farming and moved to Blair which has since been their home.

Three children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Stricklett, Cecil, Etta and Sydney Lee. Both Etta and Sydney Lee have passed on, leaving the husband and son to mourn their great loss.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Stricklett Rites Held

Mrs. Charles Stricklett, 72, Long a Blairite Died Sunday

Mrs. Charles Stricklett of 249 East Nebraska Street. long a resident of Blair, died Sunday morning as the result of a stroke. Mrs. Stricklett, who was almost 73 years of age, died at her home following a long period of failing health. Born as Gertrude McCoy, she lived in Blair all her life.

Funeral services were held at the Christian Church yesterday at 2 p.m. Burial, with arrangements in charge of the Campbell Mortuary, interment followed in Blair Cemetery.

Surviving Mrs. Stricklett are her husband, Charles; one son, Cecil B. (Jack) Stricklett of Blair; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Reichenbach (Julia) of Ralston and Mrs. Moris Reichenbach (Geneva) of Lincoln; one brother, Sidney McCoy of Rocklin, Calif.; five grandchildren, including four in Blair, Tim Engelke, Mrs. June Woodring and Mrs. Georgia Waring, and two in Omaha, one being Sgt. George R. (Billj Engelke formerly of Blair. There are eight great-grandchildren.
