CHRISTOPHER C. FISCHER RITES SUNDAY

Christopher C. Fischer, son of the late Henry and Barbara Fischer, was born Feb. 26th, 1880 in Germany, and passed away May 5th, 1950 at his home on W. Lincoln St. at the age of 70 years and two months. At the age of two years he came with his parents to this country and settled in Blair where he grew up and attended Blair schools. He lived most of his life in and around Blair and for the past several years made his home at West Lincoln with his brother.

Chris was a quiet man. He was a good brother and friend. He was an active member of the I.O.O.F. lodge. His sudden passing comes as a shock to his loved ones. He leaves to mourn his passing two sisters, Hilda (Mrs. Chas. Gehrk) of Blair and Augusta (Mrs. Will Ruwe) of Arlington. Three brothers, Frank and Fritz of Blair and John of Omaha. Two nephews and one niece, besides many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 7th, at the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. D. D. Kennedy officiating, and interment at the Blair cemetery was in charge of the Odd Fellows Lodge.

The Pallbearers were Ed Crutsinger, Howard Jensen, Peter Stricklett, Jr., Al Andersen, Frank Bross and Roy Creach.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Blanchard sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere” and “Abide With Me”.
