Mrs. Abbey Conety Dies In Sleep

Victim Of Heart Attack Sunday Night

Mrs. Abbey Conety, well-known woman who resided on a farm north of Blair, passed away in her sleep sometime Sunday night. She was found dead, the apparent victim of a heart attack, early, Monday morning. She had been in good health prior to her death and her passing came as a distinct shock to her many friends in this area.

Mrs. Conety was born January 14, 1893, in Ohio, and she came west to Nebraska with her parents at an early age. The family settled north of Blair and she spent her entire life there.

On December 16, 1903, she was married to George Tyson, who passed away five years later. To this union a son, Ned, was born, who is now well-known for his business activities in Herman and Blair.

She was married to James Conety August 12, 1915, and they engaged in farming on the bottoms north of Blair. They were successful in their work and built one of the better farm places of this county.

Mrs. Conety proved to be a woman of great energy, one who worked enthusiastically on whatever she attempted. She became known for her drive and ability to get things done and for her aggressiveness in everything she did.

She is survived by her husband, James S. Conety and by her son, Ned Tyson, of Herman. Three sisters and a brother, all living in Los Angeles, also survive. They are Mrs. Jesse Dixon, Mrs. Myrtle Boston and Mrs. Elizabeth Flynn and Clarence Sheets.

Mrs. Conety was a long time member of the Rebekah Lodge at Blair and was a member of the Presbyterian Church when that denomination existed here.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Blair with the Rev. Melvon Ireland conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.

Pallbearers were all neighbors and long-time acquaintances of the deceased woman. They were Prentice Smith, A. R. Beales, Clyde Metzler, Byron Bunn, Harry Tyson and Kenneth Tyson.
