MRS. NIEBAUM DIED SUNDAY, JAN. 29

Mrs. Lena Niebaum, 82, died Sunday at a Fremont hospital after a short illness. She has been a resident of this vicinity 66 years.

Born April 14, 1867 at Quincy, Illinois, she moved to Fontanelle with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bosechult, at the age of 16. She married Herman Niebaum of Fontanelle on March 4, 1890.

The couple lived on a farm near Fontanelle until 1937 when they retired and moved to Fremont. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1940. Mr. Niebaum died June 25, 1945.

Survivors are four sons, Aaron of Fremont and Lawrence, Fred and George of Fontanelle; six daughters, Irma and Hilda at home, Mrs. Minnie Schafersman of Fremont, Mrs. Herbert Meier of Hooper, Mrs. Percy Fuhlrodt of Wisner and Mrs. Weldon Sievers of Wellington, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Rabe of Fremont and Mrs. August Peppmiller of Herman; two brothers, George Boschult of Herman and Ed Boschult of Scribner: 21 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Salem Lutheran church with Rev. Fred Kern officiating. Burial was made in the Fontanelle cemetery. The Fred Bader funeral home of Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
