D. BRUMMOND RITES TUESDAY

Herman - Douglas Brummond, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Clement Brummond of Herman, was taken to the Children’s Memorial hospital in Omaha in April of 1949 where he received treatment for some time. He was brought to his home, and during the summer he seemed to be regaining his health and he started to school in September. At Thanksgiving time he was ill with pneumonia from which he seemed to recover.

At Christmas time he, with the family, visited his grandparents at Decatur, Nebraska and he started school again after Christmas, but was taken ill again and was taken at once to the Children’s Memorial hospital and last Saturday morning he died.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Herman with Rev. Jul Frese officiating, and interment was made in the Herman cemetery.

The pallbearers were Jerry and Davis Triplett, Danny Woten, Knute Larsen, Clifford Peterson and Bobbie Magill.

The grief-stricken parents and family have the sympathy of the entire community.
