WM. L. COWAN A SUICIDE

Wm. L. Cowan of Blair died Sunday morning a suicide as the result of a gunshot wound in the chest. This is the report given to an Enterprise reporter by the Sheriff after he had made his investigation.

Deceased was born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Cowan on Sept. 16, 1909 at Lupus, Missouri. His early life was spent in the place of his nativity, and there he received his education.

On May 27, 1928 he was united in marriage to Nellie May Cushman and to them four children were born, Peggie, Bonnie, Alice and William all living, and with the wife grieve deeply their great loss.

Mr. Cowan was a skilled worker in steel construction and necessarily his work took him from place to place.

At one time they resided in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and while residing there Mr. Cowan became affiliated with the Baptist church and according to reports he lived the part of a good conscientious Christian.

Besides the wife and children already mentioned, he leaves one grandson, his father and mother of Kansas City, Mo; two brothers, Albert of Summerset, Kentucky and Thomas of Elizabeth, Tennessee and one sister, Deliah Woods of Clovis, California besides many friends and other relatives.

Funeral rites were held in Blair Wednesday afternoon with Rev. D. D. Kennedy of the Baptist church officiating, and interment under the supervision of the Campbell Mortuary was made in the Blair cemetery.
