Mrs. Watson Hain

Mrs. Blanche Carter Hain passed away Thursday, at 9 A.M., after a lingering illness, having had tuberculosis for several months.

Deceased is the last of a family of six children, as well as the parents, to die of the dread disease, the mother having passed away last week.

Mrs. Hain had lived all her life in Washington County, and, when a girl, was an employee of the Bell telephone company, where her cheerful service is still often spoken of. She was married to Watson Hain several years ago and was the mother of one little daughter, Dorothy, who with the husband and father, is left to mourn her demise. Mrs. Hain was aged about 30 years.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church, tomorrow—Saturday—at 2 o’clock P.M.

#2 Printed in the September 22, 1915 Pilot Mrs. Watson Hain died last Thursday, only a few days after the death of her mother, Mrs. Sarah E. Carter, whose death was noted in these columns last week. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon and was largely attended by relatives and friends. Rev. J.W. Lewis conducted the service and made a very helpful and comforting talk to the bereaved relatives and friends.

Blanche E. Carter was born in this city July 30, 1886, and was therefore a little past 29 years of age at the time of her death. She was reared in this city and was graduated from the Blair High School with the class of 1905. For a number of years she was employed by the Nebraska Telephone Co.'s office and made many friends and acquaintances who sincerely regret her untimely death.

She was married to Watson Hain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hain, on April 26, 1911, at the Methodist parsonage by Rev. C. P. Land. They went to housekeeping in the Tyson neighborhood, moving onto a farm southeast of town last year. Besides the husband, she leaves an only daughter, Dorothy Marie, age three years, who is the great-granddaughter of Watson Tyson Sr.

Mrs. Hain, was the last of a family of ten children, but six of whom grew to manhood and womanhood. The bereaved husband and relatives have the sympathy of many friends.

Blanch Carter was born at Blair NE July 30, 1886, and died Sept. 16, 1915, of tuberculosis, at her home southeast of Blair. Miss Carter has lived all her life in Blair and vicinity, was educated and a bright and popular member of the Class of '05. For a number of years after leaving the High School she made her home with her widowed mother, Mrs. Turner Carter (Fleming), whose death was recorded in these columns last week, and during those years she was employed in the Bell Telephone Co.

In April, four years ago, she was married to Watson Hain, by Rev. Lang at the Methodist parsonage. The husband and one little daughter, Dorothy Marie, aged three years, mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother. No other near relatives survive her since all of her immediate family have passed to the great beyond; however, she was greatly beloved as a member of the Carter family and will be sincerely mourned by her relatives who greatly regret her early demise.

She was a member of the Local Methodist Church and the services were held from the church in charge of Rev. Lewis Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and interment made in the Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. Blanche E. Carter Hain died of tuberculosis at her home southeast of Blair on Sept. 16, 1915, after an illness of over a year. She was born in West Point, NE July 30, 1886. She was the last of a family of nine children. Her father, one brother and two sisters died of tuberculosis. Three of the children died in infancy; and a brother froze to death in Wyoming. Her mother died about a week before Mrs. Hain of a complication of diseases due to old age.

She leaves her husband and one daughter, Dorothy Marie, aged three years to mourn her demise, also two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Will Carter of Cavour, S.D., and Mrs. Harry Carter, of North Loup, NE, and two brothers-in-law, Alfred Krause, of Bloomfield, NE, and Eugene Krause, of this city.

Mrs. Hain was a graduate of the Blair High School of the class of 1905, and a member of the Methodist Church. Before her marriage she worked for a number of years for the Nebraska Telephone Co. at this place. Rev. J.W. Lewis conducted the funeral services from the Methodist Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the Blair Cemetery.
