MRS. W. A. MAXWELL BURIED JULY 5TH

Kate Adelia Boldon was born April 17, 1883 near Craig, Neb., and passed away July 2, 1949 in the Blair convalescent home where she had been a patient for three months. At her death she was past 66 years of age.

The family moved from Craig when she was a small child, moving to Tekamah where she received her education. She lived there until 1945 when she came to Blair.

She was married to Walter A. Maxwell on November 9, 1902. To this union ten children, nine sons and one daughter, were born. Two sons died in infancy and one, Donald F. in World War II on June 12, 1944. Mr. Maxwell passed away on December 29, 1938.

Mrs. Maxwell suffered a severe fall on May 30, 1948, and had been an invalid since that time. With the exception of six months in Florida, she had been in the Convalescent Home in Blair most of the time since her fall.

She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Jessick of Blair; six sons, Orville of Blair; William of Miami, Florida; Waldo of Hastings, Ne.; Darwin of Omaha; and Lloyd and Clarence of Tekamah. She also leaves one brother, John Bolden of Tekamah; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Mathews of Sioux City, Ia.; 13 grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces.

Services were held at the Schaffer and Peck Funeral Home Tuesday, July 5, 1949 with Dr. John W. Harbaugh in charge. Mrs. A. J. Bruce sang “The Beautiful Garden of Prayer”, “Rock of Ages”. Mrs. I. P. Schafer at the piano. Burial was in the Tekamah cemetery.

Note: Kate is the daughter of James Benjamin and Sarah Boldon. She is buried in the Tekamah Cemetery.
