JENS PETERSEN DIED SUDDENLY TUESDAY EVE.

Son’s Death Follows That of Father a Short Time Ago

Jens J. Petersen, well known Blair man, whose father, P. C. Petersen, passed away only last week, was suddenly stricken by a heart attack Tuesday evening while in Blair looking after the estate of his father. He died almost instantly.

Jens J. Petersen was born May 20, 1909 at Waterloo, Ia., son of P. C. and Elmine Petersen. With them he came to the Blair vicinity in 1915. He was graduated from Blair high school, and in 1935 received his engineering degree from the University of Nebraska.

Mr. Petersen and Elvera Knofler were married Nov. 16, 1935. Since that time they have made their home in Omaha except for three years and four months Mr. Petersen spent in the Armed Forces as a radar operator. He was overseas all but a year of that time.

Surviving Mr. Petersen are his wife, Elvera; two children, Norman, 10, and Barbara, 6; his mother, Mrs. P. C. Petersen; and two sisters, Mrs. Elsa Swartz of Portland, Ore.; and Mrs. Nelsine McAllister of Sonora, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at First Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. H. C. Jorgensen officiating. The I.O.O.F. Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars will assist with the rites. Burial will be in Blair cemetery.

The Bendorf funeral Home has charge of the funeral.
