MRS. ANE CARLSEN RITES HELD APR. 19

Funeral services for Mrs. Ane Carlsen were held Tuesday, April 19 at 2 p.m. from the Kennard Lutheran church with Rev. Thorslev officiating. Burial was in Kennard cemetery.

Ane Carlsen was born in Vissing, Denmark March 5, 1863, and passed away April 16, 1949 at the age of 86 years. She was married to Carl Carlsen, also of Denmark, and came to this country to make their home, and settled on a farm east of Kennard. Mr. Carlsen died in 1918 and Mrs. Carlson move to Kennard where she lived until three and one half years ago. Her health failed her, and she went to live with her daughter, Dora Knudsen, in Omaha, where she spent almost 2 years. She had been bedfast for six weeks, her children having been at her bedside constantly. She was a loving mother, and her children will miss her very much. She was a true member of the Lutheran church in Kennard. Eight children were born to this union, her husband, one son and one daughter preceding her in death. She leaves to mourn her 6 daughters: Dora Knudsen, Omaha; Carrie Kronberg, Benson Station; Mary Larson, Herman; Rosie Andersen, Blair; Matilda Cunningham, Nickerson; Nina Rasmussen, Scranton, Ia.; also 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; one brother and one sister. Six of her grandsons were pallbearers. They are Harvey Knudson, Don Kronberg, Gilford Larson, Merle Andersen, Luverne Cunningham and Calvin Rasmussen.

MRS. ANA CARLSEN RITES AT KENNARD

Mrs. Anna Carlsen, formerly a resident of Kennard, passed away Saturday evening, April 16th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. P. Knudsen of Omaha where she made her home.

At her death she was 86 years of age. She leaves six daughters to mourn her death, besides a long list of friends in this county.

Funeral services were held in the Kennard Lutheran church last Monday with Rev. P. L. Thorslev giving the funeral oration, and interment under the supervision of C. K. Bendorf, mortician, was made in the Kennard cemetery.
