FUNERAL RITES FOR K. B. WEST

Herman - Funeral services were held March 8th for Killus Beck West at the Herman Baptist church with Rev. Robert Wigert in charge. Mrs. Gordon Lowe played and Mrs. Ralph Scarlett and Mrs. Claude Yowell sang. The pallbearers were Ed Hoover, E. E. Entreken, William Lowe, Frank Erikson, John Forsberg and Pete Carpenter. Interment was made in the Herman cemetery.

Killus Beck West was born in Terre Haute, Indiana March 7, 1874. At the age of seven he came to Nebraska with his parents in a covered wagon. He was the son of Miles and Margaret West, and the last surviver of this family. He was united in marriage to Vena Bell Pyles December 22, 1904. To this union six children were born, two girls and four boys.

One son, Julian West, preceded him in death. He spent most of his life in Herman, Nebraska. He passed away Saturday, March 5, 1949, at Herman at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 29 days.

He leaves to mourn his death his children, Mrs. Stella Sanderson of San Luis Obispo, California; Mrs. Alice Grothe of Herman; Clifford West of Herman; Woodrow West of Blair; and Kenneth West of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Ten grandchildren and a host of friends also survive.
