MRS. DAUB OF OMAHA DEAD

FORMER BLAIR WOMAN, 65, DIED TUESDAY, RITES WILL BE FRIDAY

Mrs. Bessie Daub, 65, former Blair woman and mother of George Lantry of this city, died in an Omaha hospital early Tuesday.

Services with the Bendorf Funeral Home in charge will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Methodist church here. Burial will be in Blair Cemetery.

Mrs. Daub's first husband was George Lantry, Sr. to whom she was married in 1898. He died a year and a half ago.

Mrs. Daub had lived in Omaha about six years.

Surviving are her husband, Aaron Daub; three sons, Charles Lantry of Omaha, George Lantry of Blair, and Gerald Lantry of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Fair (Elsie) of Omaha and Mrs. Stella VanSant of Los Angeles; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

FORMER BLAIR WOMAN DIES AFTER SCUFFLE

Mrs. Daub Succumbs To Injuries In Thursday Night Fracas

Mrs. Bessie Daub, the former Mrs. George E. Lantry of Blair, died in Douglas County hospital early Tuesday following injuries received in a rooming house scuffle last Thursday evening. Mrs. Daub is well known to many in this community.

According to information available, Mrs. Daub was injured when attempting to stop an argument which had started between three men in her rooming house at 317 North 17th street in Omaha. Raymond Fair, 31, and a son-in-law of Mrs. Daub is out of $2,000 bond, but no charges had been filed last Wednesday by Omaha police. Also engaged in the argument was James Fair, brother of Ray, and another roomer by the name of Herbert Essel.

In attempting to prevent a scuffle in her home, Mrs. Daub was either struck or was pushed by one of the men. A large woman, weighing 240 pounds, Mrs. Daub was injured either from the blow or the fall, and was found to suffer a skull fracture and internal injuries when taken to the hospital. She failed to rally after an operation to remove a blood clot from her brain.

Mrs Daub was born in Blair in 1883, and was 65 years of age at the time of her death. At the age of 16 she was married to George E. Lantry of Blair, and she made her home here for 25 years. To this union nine children were born, five of whom survive. These are Charles Lantry and George E. Lantry of Blair; Elsie (Mrs. Raymond Fair of Omaha); Gerald Lantry of Detroit and Mrs. C. VanSant of Los Angeles. A daughter, Viola died at the age of 4 and a son, Jimmy at the age of 3. Another daughter, Ethel, passed away in 1928 at the age of 24. Another son died at birth.

There are 18 surviving grandchildren.

Services will be held in Blair tomorrow (Friday) at 2 o’clock p.m. at the Methodist church with Bendorf Funeral Home in charge.
