LAST RITES FOR MRS. M. PETERSEN

Mrs. Maren Petersen passed away in her home in Blair on Jan. 20, 1949. She was born in Fjen, Denmark in September of 1855 where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

In 1883 she was married to Jess Petersen.

The family came to America, settling at Council Bluffs, Iowa in February of 1892, and stayed in Council Bluffs until 1906 when they came to Blair where they settled on a farm in the Rose Hill district. This they made their home until 1925 when they moved to Council Bluffs, where Mr. Petersen passed away in 1930. In 1932 Mrs. Petersen and a daughter with whom she has lived since, moved back to Blair.

She is survived by four children, Chris Petersen, Logan, Ia.; Miss Hannah Petersen of Blair; John Petersen of Arlington and Mrs. Fred H. Jensen of Blair; two brothers, F. C. C. Petersen of Blair and John Petersen of Council Bluffs; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral was held at the First Lutheran church on Jan. 22 with the Bendorf Mortuary in charge. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.
