Thomas Pollard Lippincott was born in Washington County, Indiana June 8, 1846 and died in Blair June 3, 1915 being 69 years, 22 days old at the time of his death. The funeral was held at the family residence at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, July 3rd, Rev. J. W. Lewis officiating.

In March 1857 he came with his parents to Nebraska and settled on the homestead which is now Cummings City Township five miles north of Blair. He was educated with the Nebraska College in Nebraska City and at Bryant and Stanton College, Chicago. In 1870 he entered the employ of Elm Clark and Son, grain buyers in Blair for whom he worked about four years. He then went into the stock buying and implement business with James Foley, afterwards buying Mr. Foley out. He continued in the implement business until 1910. He served one term as County Clerk during 1882 to 1883.

He was married June 8, 1876 to Hettie R. Camp in this city and to them five children were born, Dora, died age two years and Edna nine years; two sons Ray and Paul and one daughter Lydia live in this city. He has lived continually in Washington County since 1857 except fifteen months in 1911 to 1912, which were spent in Florida.

Besides his widow and three children he is survived by three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. L. R. Fletcher and Mrs. L. A. Kantlin of Omaha, Mrs. S. R. Fletcher of Bancroft, William J. of Red Cloud, James W. and Ephraim of Blair.

Mr. Lippincott was a quiet, well-informed man, clean in mind and person, honest in all his dealings with all his fellows and therefore a good citizen who will be missed by all who knew him. The bereaved family has the sympathy of the entire community for his acquaintance was community wide.

ANOTHER PIONEER GONE

Thomas Pollard Lippincott was born June 8, 1846 in Washington county, Indiana. He came with his parents to this county in 1857, where he resided on the old Lippincott homestead until manhood.

He was educated at Nebraska College at Nebraska City and at Bryant and Stratton College of Chicago.

In 1870 he entered the employ of Elam Clark and Sons, grain buyers in Blair, where he worked for about four years and then went into the stock buying and implement business in company with James Foley. Later he bought out Mr. Foley’s interest and continued in the business until 1910 when he retired and moved to Florida, with the hope of benefitting his health which had not been good for some time. He was in Florida only fifteen months when he moved back to Blair where he has since resided.

Mr. Lippincott was a plain unassuming man and was held in high respect by those of his acquaintance.

He was married to Hettie R. Camp of this city on June 8, 1876 and to this untion five children were born, three of whom are still living.

Besides his widow he leaves to mourn him three children, three sisters and three brothers.

The funeral services were held at the home on last Saturday, Rev. Lewis officiating.
