18 July, 1906 - The Pilot - Mrs. William Misner and son, Ernest Louis Misner

The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Z. T. Mundorf of Herman will regret to learn of the sad accident that befell the family of their son-in-law, William H. Misner, of Arcadia, Nebraska. Mrs. Misner and little three year old son met their death as the result of an explosion of gasoline. She had planned to fumigate her hen house, but before placing the pail of sulphur and live coals in she had sprayed the house with gasoline and the live coals ignited the gasoline and she was enveloped in flames. As she ran into the yard her little son ran to her, and as a result both are dead. In an effort to save them the hired man now lies in a critical condition. The remains were brought to Herman Thursday afternoon and were taken to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Z. T. Mundorf, who live about two miles west of Herman. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Herman on Friday afternoon with Rev. Cook officiating. She leaves a husband and little son about one year old, her parents and four sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Misner was born June 12, 1882, and was married to Mr. Misner December 25, 1903 and died July 10, 1906. Little Ernest Louis was born November 11, 1904 and died July 10, 1906. The deceased was a member of the Christian church and was very popular with all who knew her. Her sisters who were present at the funeral were Mrs. H. Souder of Beatrice, Mrs. E. R. Little of Harvard, Mrs. B. F. Crowell of Lyons and her sister-in-law, Mrs. L. E. Hilke of Anoka.
