Died on 6/2/1909

#1-16 June, 1909 - The Pilot - William Johnson

Al Jones tells us he received word from Concordia, Kan. that Wm. Johnson, formerly of this county, died on Wednesday, June 2nd, at the advanced age of 88 years. Mr. Johnson came to this county in 1856 and in 1866 he homesteaded out on Belle Creek. In about 1884 he moved to this city and lived where Mrs. A. M. Bovee now lives, selling it to A. C. Smith when he left about 10 years later. He lived on a farm adjoining his son, Gus, who by the way is a graduate of our high school. His wife died some six years ago.

#2-17 June, 1909 - Blair Democrat - William Johnson

Word was received in Blair last week conveying news of the death of William Johnson, who has made his home in Kansas for the past several years. Mr. Johnson was one of the first settlers in Washington county, coming to Fontanelle in 1856, and will be well remembered by many of our readers over on the west side of the county. He was nearly ninety years old at the time of his death.
