#1-10 Mar., 1909 - The Pilot - Hans Anderson Hans Anderson, a young man about 20 years of age, died at the home of his brother in Grant township last Sunday afternoon of a combined attack of scarlet fever and diphtheria after an illness of only a few days. Owing to the nature of the disease no funeral service was held, the body being taken direct from the house to the Blair cemetery. He was a son of Thomas Anderson of this city, his mother having died out at Red Cloud, Neb. when he was a boy. #3-11 Mar., 1909 - Blair Democrat - Hans Anderson

Hans Anderson, a son of Thomas Anderson, who lives over in Dexterville, died at the home of his brother, Fred, in Grant township last Sunday, and the funeral was held Monday. The young man was taken suddenly ill Thursday night and when the physician was called, he pronounced the malady a mixed infection of diphtheria and scarlet fever. It was a very severe case and no hopes were entertained for the young man’s life from the start.
